Are you seeking a new position to tell the story of a Fortune 250 Company? Do you understand paid digital and search and have a strong editorial background? Do you have passion to collaborate with business leaders? If so, the Digital Communications and Editorial Strategy Director may be the opportunity for you! In this role, you will help drive C.H. Robinson's storytelling and digital communications content strategy and execution. This is an important role, aligned to the Communications and Public Relations' Center of Excellence within the Marketing team. You will partner closely with team members across communications, divisional marketing, digital, content, and creative, as well as internal communications, investor relations and divisional leaders. You will bring our stories to life on our owned channels in high quality and impactful ways.

This is an exciting new role to help create and lead an "earned" editorial and social media strategy and plan, to communicate the company's vision, explore the latest technology and business trends, and tell our customers' stories.

Responsibilities:

  • Digital-first enterprise story strategist, manage our owned storytelling content strategy and execution
  • Story mining to support our technology narrative and customer promise, driving editorial cadence in support of the company narrative
  • Develop powerful editorial content tied to business objectives and partner with the creative and design team to deliver across multiple publication mediums, including blogs, social media, third-party media, infographics, reports, and more
  • Drive our owned social media strategy, across all platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and others) by developing and managing an editorial calendar approach mapped to business objectives, key announcements, and events
  • Lead employee ambassador strategy on LinkedIn and other platforms as needed, supporting the senior leadership team's social media strategy, amplifying employee content and social media activity
  • Leverage existing brand and reputation assets to maintain a consistent voice, look, tone, and feel
  • Collaborate with C.H. Robinson leaders and internal partners to ensure content is relevant and accurately reflects initiatives across the company
  • Leverage analytics and metrics to better understand audiences, inform future storytelling initiatives, and develop more effective content
  • Partner with the marketing team to provide advice and deliverables that reflect a deep understanding of the business and marketing objectives
  • Work with key members of public relations, internal communications, investor relations, and marketing teams to ensure consistent messaging across multiple programs and campaigns
  • Stay current on trends, social issues, industry news to anticipate, and plan for ongoing communications needs
  • Leads and mentors colleagues, sharing best practice about digital and social media communications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 8 years of public relations and/or digital news/online/social media experience, preferably in a global, matrixed organization
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership experience in B2B organization and/or large company communications, public relations, and content communications
  • Ability to travel up to 10% (domestic and international)

  • Broad industry perspective, strong network of external communications and marketing professionals
  • Organizational savvy with proven ability to drive results in a cross-functional, matrixed organization
