Position: Director English Skills Academy

Duties: The position reports to the Associate Provost of Academic Innovation, Online Education and Global Opportunities. The Director of the English Skills Academy is responsible for all aspects of delivering a multi leveled English Language Program that prepares individuals for life skills, college, work readiness and success. The Director provides instructional leadership and will be responsible for the planning, developing and implementing of strategies to meet divisional goals for the development and delivery of the English Skills Academy.

Essential Functions:

  • Provides overall leadership and direction for the ESA program and its staff Assures high quality of all instruction by recruiting the required number of qualified instructors. Develops, implements and evaluates effective curricula, systems and procedures. Develops and maintains effective systems to market ESA programs, Collaborates with RCC Departments (i.e. ISSS) to attract students locally and from abroad (F-1). Designs strategies for strengthening student retention to create pathways to credit bearing programs. Facilitates cultural programs and clubs to enhance language acquisition ( i.e. conversation club, specific workshops, trips). Develops and oversees all ESA budgets. Develops and maintains partnerships with community-based organizations. Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Education, ESOL, TESOL or Linguistics.
  • Five-Seven years of experience ELL (English Language Learners or IEP (Intensive English Program) teaching experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of leadership and supervisory experience

Starting Salary: Commensurate with experience
