Blue Cross of Idaho has an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Director to lead a team of IT data engineers and analysts, knowledgeable in clinical and business activities, to deliver data, data analytics, and drive business applications, in order to meet user information needs and the strategic goals of the organization. This role will oversee the company's data integration platform and drive the vision, strategy, roadmap, and execution for the Data Engineering, Integration, and Analytics capabilities. In addition, this role will lead the development of a Master Data Management multi domain solution that provides a single trusted view of our products, customers, and vendors.

The ideal candidate will quickly understand and articulate the data needs that will drive our digital transformation, support our business strategy and enable trusted data for digital agility, in collaboration with business partners and external suppliers in the delivery of data solutions.

This role is located in Meridian, Idaho and reports to the Chief Technology Officer. #LI-Onsite

To be considered for this opportunity you have:

Experience: Ten (10) years' experience driving IT transformational data initiatives, with experience in developing solutions for data integration and/or data analytics; to include management experience. Must have proven delivery excellence track record.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field; or equivalent work experience (Two years' relevant work experience is equivalent to one-year college)

We'd also love it if you have:

  • Experience working in healthcare or health-tech, with a deep understanding of the regulatory & compliance frameworks that are unique to the health industry (HIPAA Security, etc.)
  • Management experience in an information data leadership position within a large and complex health system.

You will be an excellent fit for this position if you:
  • Are highly strategic, analytical, organized, and motivated to build, lead, and develop a team that integrates and manages enterprise data for both operations and analytics.
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills to successfully communicate to both technical and non-technical audiences in varying forms and levels, as well as the ability to understand and express concepts and recommendations with internal/external customers and various levels of leadership.
  • Have an excellent track record of successfully designing and delivering significant and impactful data solutions on prem or in cloud
  • Have experience with technologies like Snowflake, Kafka, AWS, Tableau and AI/ML.
  • Have expertise in leading teams that implement data transport methodologies and technologies.
  • Have superior analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities to tackle complex business and technical problems: a critical thinker. Possess a detailed understanding of analytics concepts/methods and the ability to research and employ new techniques depending on project requirements. Ability to express concepts (e.g. business, technical and other), ideas, insights, opinions, and conclusions, so that others understand or are persuaded to act.
  • Have strong self-motivation and the ability to motivate others through collaboration.
  • Have extensive understanding of batch and real-time data integration patterns include ETL / ELT experience as well as API integration experience.
  • Have the ability to use agile methods in developing and leading data solution delivery.
  • Create an environment that encourages and values the opinions of others and promotes sharing of information and ideas.
  • Strong people leader and developer of talent.
  • Stay abreast on new tools and technologies related to data and analytics.
  • Have poise and the ability to act calmly and competently in high-pressure, high-stress situations.

In this role, we will ask you to:
  • Lead a team of IT Data Engineers and Analysts in the design, development, testing, deployment, and production operations of data pipelines that integrate data across our enterprise applications.
  • Plan, develop, and deliver a robust Master Data Management multi- domain solution for product, vendor, and customer data.
  • Lead the IT Data team in ensuring projects, programs, and initiatives are optimized, aligned, and delivered to meet the business needs.
  • Accelerate the ability to integrate data across the enterprise and leverage it to meet operational and analytical business needs.
  • Lead strategic planning, roadmap development, and operational planning for Data consumption and delivery teams.
  • Develop and drive team standards and best practices across the organization.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the data strategy roadmap.
  • Develop a strategy for Data in the cloud and deliver an execution plan and roadmap
