Overview

Plan, coach and administer all field construction activities while maintaining frequent communication with President and other departments.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manages and administers field activities including setting goals and objectives for staff supervisors pursuant to approved plans, specifications, master contracts, building codes, and company development schedule and cost budgets.
  • Supervises, directs and coaches direct reports, including managing other functions as required by Region/Division organizational structure.
  • Ensures staff receives training on and follows Company and Region/Division construction, quality control and safety methods and procedures.
  • Coordinates schedules, construction staff and production with President and senior staff to accomplish goals and objectives of business plan.
  • Maintains frequent communication with President and other departments; has department meetings to keep current with and to disseminate information to staff; has pre-construction meetings with subcontractors and staff.
Education & Experience

  • Ten years in construction with strong background in supervision and personnel management.
  • High School graduate or equivalent. College graduate preferred.
Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to motivate, supervise and coordinate field and office staff on daily basis.
Technical Knowledge & Experience

  • Extensive knowledge of on-site and off-site construction procedures.
Physical Requirements

  • May have occasion to lift/carry and/or push/pull 25 pounds.
  • Typical office environment.
  • Construction sites where temperature, weather and noise may vary; may encounter electrical, dust, poor ventilation, dangerous machinery and moving objects and toxic conditions.
