The Sr. Director of Innovations and Business Development plays an important role in supporting the strategic direction of the company, with a strong focus on evaluating strategic growth initiatives. Supports the company's strategic planning process by providing research, analysis and presentation of findings and recommendations in support of strategic growth. This role will have end to end responsibility for managing idea generation, R&D activities and will assists with the development and implementation of corporate and business segment strategic growth initiatives. Maintains a keen awareness and acumen around disruptive technologies, emerging trends, innovation and competitors to leverage in creation of growth plans. Liaise, collaborate and maintain strong working relationships with leadership from each business unit at Globe Life while efficiently managing project resources. Works effectively as a contributing team member of the Enterprise Transformation team managing projects including but not limited to: Strategic growth, emerging trends and technologies, R&D, strategic and operational metrics, M&A acquisitions and divestitures.

Responsibilities

  • Be actively involved in business development activities to help identify and research opportunities for internal partners
  • Lead innovation by owning the vision and roadmap and defining important metrics for that area
  • Lead the design & implementation of business plans and gains concurrence, approval, and consensus from stakeholders regarding the various project aspects
  • Drive the Innovations & Business Development team to test, analyze and optimize growth opportunities and deliver data-driven insights
  • Mentors team members to develop critical relationships by demonstrating and promoting effective relationship building throughout the company
  • Perform ongoing review of internal clients opportunity portfolio and identify potential risks to the clients' planned objectives that includes developing plans and measures to minimize and mitigate the potential risks
  • Track, support and build relationships and effective communication with key partners including presentations to partners as requested
  • Engages management appropriately and in a timely manner in problem determination, remediation, and resolution
  • Fosters an environment that promotes a cohesive and team-oriented results and promotes the organization's strategic vision
