SUMMARY

Under limited supervision, performs a variety of complex assignments related to the creation and maintenance of
engineering documentation. Documents and updates drawings and specifications of products and fixtures in support of new and existing products. Performs required MRP and CAD system administration, which includes but not limited to part number, BOM and router entry and maintenance and drawing and engineering document updates. Oversees the revision control of all engineering documentation. Implements the documentation control policies and procedures. Acts as communication link with manufacturing on product release documentation and sustaining engineering. Checks and verifies info on CAD drawings, BOM and ECOs for accuracy to completeness. Helps maintain computer database and maintain files for engineering drawings, ECOs, customer drawings /specifications and associated reference material. Assists in overseeing and administering work for sustaining engineer/s.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

* Enter new component and assembly part number in SAP.
* Enter new component and assembly BOM in SAP.
* Enter new component and assembly routers in SAP.
* Assign and input standard and special part numbers in engineering database.
* File drawing/specifications in alpha/numeric sequence (ASCII collating sequence)
* Make copies of drawings using office and engineering copiers, scanners and plotters.
* Scan engineering drawings, specifications and other documents into Adobe Acrobat PDF format for electronic file storage.
* Maintain engineering change order (ECO) database using desktop personal computer.
* Process ECOs utilizing approved database.
* Maintain engineering drawing database using desktop personal computer.
* Maintain customer drawing/specification database using desktop personal computer.
* Continuous Improvement activities

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. * 1-3 years related experience in document control process, Engineering environment preferred.
* Computer knowledge (i.e. Windows OS, Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, Adobe Acrobat) and have experience with Microsoft Access Software preferred.
* Ability to communicate and interface well with a wide range of people.
* Good oral and written communication skills.
* Good organizational and time management skills

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

* High School Diploma or GED
* Aptitude to learn how to read a wide variety of blueprints
* Some understanding of AS9100 and ISO9001 is preferred
* Some working knowledge of inspection techniques and instruments
* Excellent reading, writing and mathematical skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to work under pressure in meeting time schedules
* Ability to work overtime, as needed
* Ability to work effectively with all employees and supervisors
* Some Computer Skills, experience and knowledge with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

LANGUAGE SKILLS

* Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.

Physical Demands:

* Combined sitting, standing, and walking throughout the day to accomplish tasks.
* Occasional may lift of up to 25 pounds.
* Reaching, stretching, pushing, pulling, climbing, crouching or stooping on a frequent basis to accomplish administrative tasks.
* Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
* Ability to use computer for extended periods of time.
