Notable local museums range from rare art collections to an actual World War II submarine and a U.S. Navy ship used during D-Day. General Description:

Assist the Registrar's Office with digitizing paper records, which involves organizing files, preparing files for scanning, appropriately disposing of files that do not need to be scanned, and scanning files that need to be retained.

Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  1. High School diploma or equivalent
  2. Basic computer competency, including the ability to use Microsoft Windows and learn new document imaging/scanning software.
  3. Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively in both written and verbal form.
  4. Ability to work independently within established guidelines.
  5. Lift a minimum of 25 pounds (boxes of files).
  6. Maintain a professional appearance and conduct in an office setting.
  7. Demonstrated ability to relate to people of all ages, races, and social-economic backgrounds.
  8. Ability to act with diplomacy, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  9. Highly motivated and solution oriented with a high degree of integrity, ethic, and dedication to the mission of the college.

Essential Function:

  1. Responsible for preparation and scanning of educational records.
  2. Perform scanning functions on documents while maintaining integrity of batch assembly and monitoring images for completeness and legibility.
  3. Responsible for indexing documents scanned to the work queue daily.
  4. Works among Document Imaging Staff to aid in the timely processing of records.
  5. Maintains educational records in an electronic format by moving, copying, and deleting under the direction of supervisor.
  6. Communicates with supervisor to keep them informed of the status of work, potential issues, and concerns.
  7. Maintain the strict confidentiality of student records in accordance with College policy and federal student privacy laws.
  8. Utilizes general office equipment and computer systems and software applications necessary to perform responsibilities.
  9. Performs other related duties as assigned.
