Support the victims and survivors of domestic violence by becoming a Domestic Violence Advocate in the Helpline Project at Behavioral Health Network!
Domestic Violence Advocates provide crisis response, safety planning, emotional support, and referrals for victims and survivors of domestic violence whose partners receive help from the Helpline Program or Intimate Partner Abuse Education Programs. They understand the dynamics of domestic violence and its perpetration. Domestic Violence Advocates respond to emergency and on-going needs of domestic violence survivors by phone, virtually, or in-person.
The Helpline Project is a new effort to provide help, support, and education to anyone who wants to prevent or stop their domestic violence abusive behaviors, victims of abuse, as well as family, friends, and professionals who want to support a person' efforts to stop. The Helpline Project will provide phone, text, and email support and follow-up services available 12 hours a day, 365 days a year. Helpline staff compassionately work with callers to examine and practice the behaviors of non-abusers, help hold callers accountable for their behavior, and connect them with further resources to encourage long-term change. The Helpline Project aims to strengthen the current efforts of agencies and communities working to end domestic violence.
