The University of Virginia's Department of Drama seeks applicants for the position of Operations and Production Manager. This twelve-month position will support year-round facilities operations and rentals, and academic-year theatre productions.

The Drama Operations and Production Manager is responsible for production, facilities, and venue management. This includes year-round supervision of facilities rentals; year-round operations support of Drama facilities; and production support of academic-year performances in the Department of Drama and Dance.

The Drama Building is a state-of-the-art theatre complex, which includes the 520-seat Culbreth Theatre with proscenium stage, the flexible 160 to 200-seat Helms Theatre, and the 300-seat Ruth Caplin Theatre, a thrust theatre. The Drama Building also houses classrooms with state-of-the-art technology, studio space, costume and scene shops. For more information on the Department of Drama, visit https://drama.virginia.edu/.

A Bachelor's Degree is required. One year of experience working in technical theatre production, space/facilities management, or a related field is required. Must be able to solve problems and deal effectively with competing priorities in a timely manner. Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret procedures and regulations specific to the technical theatre process. Must be able to effectively communicate with and respond to a diverse audience that includes faculty, staff, students, and professional theatre artists. Must be committed to a safe and equitable work environment. Preference will be given to candidates with a Master's of Fine Arts in Theatre with a focus in technology or stage management, or with four to seven years of experience working in technical theatre production, stage management, or facilities management.

The expected salary for this position is $48,000 to $52,000 commensurate with experience and qualifications. This is an Exempt level, benefited position. For more information on the benefits at UVA, visit hr.virginia.edu/benefits.

This position requires extensive desktop computer use and occasional travel. Employee will be required to lift various weights, climb ladders and stairs in order to complete jobs.
