Responsibilities

This position will carry out full vehicle, subsystem, and component tests in a lab environment. The engineer will lead test instrumentation (transducers, vehicle BUS) and control. Tests following standard industry and CNHi procedures for engine, driveline, cooling, and mechanical systems will be carried out in the test lab dyno cells.

This position will design and lead fabrication of test fixtures, test control (automation) and data acquisition to support driveline and mechanical subsystem and component testing. This will involve electro-mechanical sensor integration and test control programming, which, will require review of field test and/or design calculations to determine proper duty cycles or methods of simulating field conditions or events in the lab and owning all analysis of data prior and post test.

Full responsibility for instrumentation, programming, analysis, and adherence to standard test procedures for engine and driveline testing. Work with design engineers to interpret data to achieve desired results. Provide recommendations to product development team for solutions and improvements.

The engineer will recommend alternatives to enhance performance, reliability, quality, durability, and margin improvement; and work with the product development team to resolve product issues.

Prepare, organize, and submit timely and concise reports which include data reduction and analysis of system/component performance, reliability, and durability. Maintain accurate and comprehensive test records for reference and analysis.

Qualifications

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Agricultural, Electrical or Mechanical)

A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience

Ability to travel up to 10% Domestic and/or International

Preferred Requirements/Qualifications:

The ability to execute tasks with minimal supervision and quickly learn new tools and techniques is required.

Experience and/or familiarity with test automation and control desired (d2T, Allen-Bradley, and National Instruments) or similar computer programming fundamentals.

Experience and/or familiarity with data acquisition and analysis software (nCode, Glyphworks, Somat/HBM InField, Matlab, DEWESoft, Somat/HBM TCAE preferred) or basic understanding of similar computer applications.

Experience and/or familiarity with CAD software (PTC Creo) or basic understanding of similar computer applications.

Strong computer skills. The candidate should be experienced personal computers and MS Office products along with basic computer programming skills to support test equipment.

Experience or knowledge of driveline components and fundamentals such as diesel engine theory, gearbox, bearing, and mechanical systems

Experience and/or familiarity of lab test equipment and duty cycle development for driveline testing preferred.

Operational experience with agricultural and construction equipment is desired

Good communication (oral and written) and teamwork skills.
