Job Description
The WNET Group seeks two Early Learning Workshop Facilitators to work with community partners, schools, and daycare centers to plan, schedule, and facilitate workshops for educators, caregivers, and parents on using media with their young children. Both positions are fixed term/temporary position expected to be between 8 and 16 hours per week starting November 1, 2021. The ideal candidates are experienced working with early childhood educators and families, are bilingual Spanish, passionate about educational media, and enthusiastic about Channel THIRTEEN and PBS KIDS!

The WNET Group supports early learning professionals and parents in all five boroughs of New York City with a variety of engagement activities, including virtual training workshops conducted through community partners like schools, childcare centers, community service organizations, and other nonprofit groups. This position would be responsible for delivering content through these workshops, including information on how to navigate the landscape of media learning resources, how to develop lesson plans around high-quality videos and games, and recommendations from experts on screen time limits. Participants walk away with resources from PBS KIDS that can be used directly with the children they care for right away. Parent workshops model successful home strategies for maintaining healthy boundaries, making appropriate media choices, and using quality educational media as a springboard for broader learning. Specific responsibilities include:
* Facilitate virtual educator professional development and family/caregiver workshops in an engaging and inclusive way in both English and Spanish.
* Learn about best practices for using educational media to support early learning, including familiarizing yourself with existing and new resources from Channel THIRTEEN and PBS KIDS.
* Coordinate with community partners to schedule and plan logistics for workshops.
* Provide support for community partners in recruiting educators and families to participate in workshops and training sessions.
* Distribute surveys and work with community partners to evaluate workshop and training success.
* Additional duties, as assigned.

Qualifications include:
* Experience with early childhood education and/or working with young children and their families.
* Experience delivering professional development content to educators.
* Experience working with families that have diverse cultures and economic backgrounds.
* Speaks Spanish fluently and feels comfortable delivering presentations and answering questions in English and Spanish.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
* Familiarity with the early childhood education landscape in New York City with connections to schools, childcare centers, and/or other community service organizations serving young children.
* Interest in supporting educators and families in using educational media in an appropriate and healthy way.
