Position Purpose:
The Maintenance Planner / Storeroom Assistant will be involved in all aspects of planning, purchasing, receiving, distribution, and shipping of material in the facility. This position will also be involved in parts research and procurement, preventative and corrective maintenance tracking as directed by the Maintenance and Engineering Departments.

Primary Duties/responsibilities:

  • Works with Maintenance Department on a daily basis to: vet out all new work orders generated, record actuals from departments daily work, print out work orders for following day's planned work, scan daily paperwork into the system.
  • Works with the Maintenance Department to continually improve the computerized maintenance management system with focus on the preventative maintenance and asset applications.
  • Runs ad hoc reports such as labor utilization report for the Maintenance Department. Prints out and distributes PM work orders to the appropriate owner.
  • Supports the Maintenance Department in its transition from reactive maintenance to predictive and preventative maintenance by attending weekly maintenance program meetings and following through on action items. Supports the Maintenance Department in outage planning.
  • Assists the storeroom in its use of the CMMS with focus on the inventory, assets, and spare parts applications. Assists in shipping, receiving, storing and distribution of supplies and checks incoming orders against items listed on packing lists and invoices.
  • Performs the counting, checking, sorting and storage of materials and products.
  • Assures the prompt and correct filling of requisitions and expedites material on back orders. Conducts inventory counts and keeps a perpetual inventory of stock on hand.
  • Accurately records receipts and withdrawals and directs invoices and credits to proper accounts. Orders stock and consumable supplies from vendors. Supports the storeroom manager in external and internal inventory audits.
  • Administers the warehousing, moving and loading of materials and products within the facility.
  • Other duties as assigned

Work Environment:

  • Ability to hear and understand audible alarms, detect changes in noise levels of rotating equipment and portable radio communication.
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment and carry materials up and down stairs with the capacity of lifting 70 pounds.
  • The Maintenance Planner / Storeroom Assistant will perform some manual work and complex clerical work involved in the operation of the central plant stockrooms and work with the Maximo system to refine preventative maintenance planning and task descriptions to streamline maintenance execution. The work involves considerable written and verbal contact with vendors and customers. This role is technical in nature with regards to parts procurement and Outage Planning and also requires customer service skills to deal with suppliers.

Note: The job can be physically demanding involving movement of heavy equipment and carrying materials up and down stairs. Candidates should be able to lift and maneuver a 70-lb load

Qualifications

Education / Experience / Background:

  • A.S. or A.A. in a related discipline.
  • 1 - 3 years' experience in receiving, distributing, and shipping of material in an industrial or central plant environment.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • Strong communication skills to help the store team achieve results.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to problem solve.
  • Must be highly organized, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Required to work both scheduled and unscheduled overtime to support facility activities.

Required Certification / Licenses / Training:

  • Must possess and maintain a valid Class C driver's license with a satisfactory driving record to maintain minimum company required insurance coverage.
