JOB DESCRIPTION

Title: Operations Manager

Position: Fulltime

Location: Asheboro, NC

Manager: Yes

Reports to: General Manager

Salary: $115000 - $125000 / year

SUMMARY OF ROLE

The engineering manager is responsible to enhance current manufacturing processes to improve quality and productivity while reducing costs. This position must also manage new product development from concept, equipment procurement and installation and startup responsibilities to increase customer base, products and market share. The engineering manager will also interact with customers and vendors as required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support existing processes and recommend changes to enhance quality and productivity while improving profitability
  • Monitor new product opportunities and manage timely completion of projects through project design, manufacturing processes, quality and BOM development
  • Direct the creation of detailed BOM instructions for new products, specifications for packaging, external supplier specifications and instructions for manufacturing
  • Ensure new project activities are timely and within budget and make necessary corrections when applicable
  • Oversee the proper documentation of new production processes and changes per ISO guidelines
  • Organize and direct product plans and specifications for projects, engineering systems, equipment, staffing and components
  • Manage new project schedule by monitoring progress, coordinating activities and resolving obstacles
  • Supervise new product projects by reviewing design, specifications, plan/schedule changes and recommending actions
  • Prepare project status reports, summarizing information/trends and communication actions
  • Promote a safe and clean working environment
  • Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 3 - 5 years of manufacturing experience preferably in the plastic injection industry
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite
  • Positive outlook while working through obstacles
  • High degree of professionalism

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment is usually within a manufacturing facility with moderate noise level. Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
