General Description:

Implements, oversees, and adapts policies and programs to enhance the organization\'s environmental and safety performance, ensures it complies with current and future regulations and standards, and protects its reputation. Maintain a safe working environment by engaging with employees and management to gather and analyze accident and near-miss information, to identify root causes and implement preventative initiatives. In addition, the position is responsible for developing safety training programs by creating and implementing the company\'s safety program policies and procedures for both shop and field services projects.

Educational requirements/Skills and experience:

Bachelor of Science degree; Occupational Safety/Health degree or Engineering preferred. A combination of education and experience may consider; 10 years plus years of industrial experience in safety and related areas, preferable in a construction and field project environment. It is a requirement that the individual selected for this position have experience in the petrochemical, refinery or similar industry. This candidate must have experience and comfortable with multi-location field operation and willingness to travel as required by the job. Other requirements include:

• Knowledge of OSHA and DOT regulations
• Thorough understanding of federal, state, local and company regulation
• Ability to anticipate, identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices
• Ability to effectively interact and communicate across all levels within the organization
• Excellent presentation skills
• Computer proficient: Microsoft Word, Access, Excel and PowerPoint

Essential Duties:

• Manages EHS activities to ensure the organization complies with EHS regulations as well as internal safety and environmental policies.
• Stay current with environmental regulations so the organization\'s EHS policies remain current and relevant. Research, evaluate, and recommend changes to enhance EHS performance.
• Anticipate, identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices. Identify, monitor, evaluate and track all safety activities through audits and statistical analysis from detailed record keeping. Provide expertise and advice on EHS issues to area managers.
• Develop and implement safety awareness, hazard and loss control programs, such as, injury reduction and workers\' compensation cost management strategies
• Develop employee and craft orientation training program.
• Maintain relationships with the community, environmental groups, or other stakeholders impacted by the EHS performance of the organization
• Lead, direct, evaluate, and develop a team of EHS professionals.
• Other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to bend, stoop, climb, reach and move about the facility.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs.

Work Environment:

Office and sometimes industrial work environment, with standard office hours, occasional overtime and weekends.

Travel:

Travel commensurate with customer and position requirements to carry out job responsibilities, to include but not limited to, constructions sites.
