Job Summary

DT Midstream is seeking an Environmental Specialist to join the Southern Operations Environmental Team. The Environmental Specialist will be responsible for environmental compliance, permitting, and remediation efforts within their area of responsibility. They will work alongside operations, construction, and engineering personnel in the field to maintain DT Midstream’s high level of environmental stewardship. The position will be located in Grand Cane, Louisiana and will provide support for Louisiana and Texas. Candidates should have progressive environmental compliance, environmental inspection, and environmental remediation experience as well as being able to work with little oversight, meet project timelines, and maintain a high level of work product.

Key Accountabilities

An Environmental Specialist will perform these duties

  • Air Quality Tasks
  • Assist with the compiling and submitting of environmental reports (Title V, Waste generator, Quad O, LDAR, etc.)
  • Assist operations with their compliance efforts and recordkeeping requirements to demonstrate environmental compliance
  • Conduct on-site facility audits to demonstrate compliance and identify areas of improvement
  • Aid in the implementation of new operational compliance measures required by new regulations
  • Interact with State agency representatives during construction activities, permitting applications, and compliance inspections
  • Environmental Tasks
  • Assist operations in the response to spills, releases, and remediation projects
  • Conduct monthly SPCC inspections to determine compliance and identify improvements
  • Observe and schedule stack testing and sampling activities when necessary
  • Participate in Environmental Inspection efforts during the construction of pipelines and facilities
  • Work to close-out permits following the construction of pipelines and facilities
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
  • 3+ years of progressive environmental experience, preferably in the oil and gas industry
  • B.S. or B.A in Environmental Science or related science/engineering degree
  • Experience in lieu of degree will be evaluated
Other Qualifications Preferred:
  • Experience in Environmental Inspection during pipeline construction
  • Experience working within the state of Louisiana and exposure to Wetland permitting for construction projects
  • Knowledge and experience with state air quality, environmental programs, the Clean Water Act, and the Clean Air Act
Other Requirements:

Proficiency in computer applications applicable to specific work field/discipline including Excel, Word, Viso and Access database.
  • Ability to interpret air permits and regulations as they pertain to our business
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing with people at all levels both within and outside the company.

The employee in this classification will be required to frequently lift objects of up to 10 pounds in weight. Occasionally the employee will have to lift/move objects of up to 25 pounds in weight. Vision requirements for this position include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee works both in a business office setting and on-site facility/construction areas. In the course of working on-site the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions, including cold/hot, wet and/or humid conditions, and may work near moving mechanical parts and/or machinery. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration (see physical requirements above). The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate in the office, but may become loud at the project site.
