Job Summary:

As the Material Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in leading and monitoring inventory control activities on location.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage material deliveries, inventory, and storage, utilizing BIM360, managing PO log on SharePoint, matching material against PO and resolving shortages. Advising employees on care and preservation of items received, stored, and shipped, as well as methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, and maintaining.
  • Material Coordinator will be responsible for all receiving on the jobsite for the duration of the project.

  • Reference driver's paperwork, confirming load details.
  • Unload Truck.
  • Confirming material inventory accuracy to packing slip.
  • Document any material shortages with driver and on paperwork prior to truck leaving site.
  • Coordinate with Superintendent for staging and/or storage instructions.
  • File all hard copies of paperwork.
  • Record receipt of material into the PO log located on SharePoint.
  • Log any issues with material received into BIM 360.
  • Contact the appropriate parties regarding any missing material or issues.

  • Manage material flow from receiving to storage locations to production site while coordinating with the Superintendent, keeping materials organized and consolidated.

  • Track staging of material
  • Track any materials that have been relocated or installed.
  • Track material that has been used in any area not designated in the drawings.

  • Assist Superintendent with site management of items such as dumpsters, port a john, equipment, propane, fuel etc. Maintaining a close working relationship with the assigned RFC.

  • Notify the assigned RFC when dumpsters are full and need to be emptied.
  • Notify the assigned RFC when additional propane deliveries/cages are needed; monitoring daily usage.
  • Monitoring diesel fuel levels in holding tank daily, if applicable
  • Be available as onsite point of contact for deliveries and placement of above items.
  • Receiving and signing equipment deliveries onsite; returning equipment on schedule for pick up to the parking lot on the scheduled day.

  • Coordinate regular communication with project PM and Superintendents regarding any material, vendor, or delivery issues.

  • Scheduling trucks for deliveries and pick-ups
  • Tracking material shortages with vendors and following up throughout installation
  • Maintaining a contact list of all vendors and storage facilities
  • Maintaining inventory of consumables; reordering as needed using the provided process.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (must be able to be ascertained from the resume):
  • Working knowledge of BIM360
  • Ability to clearly communicate in both written and spoken formats.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Self-motivated and ability to work with limited direction.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, time management and problem-solving skills.

Education and Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years material coordinating experience in construction and/or material handling industry.
  • Warehouse Forklift Certification

Other Qualifications Desired:
  • Operate - 10K Forklifts, High Reach, Telehandler, etc.
