The Finance Systems Specialist reports to the Finance Systems and Compliance Coordinator. This position is responsible for providing excellent technical assistance to college employees both within the Finance department and to other users of college financial systems.

Responsibilities

Assist college employees in operating the finance information systems database and all peripheral systems that integrate with the finance software.

Provide quality customer service in-person, over the phone, and/or in a remote setting.

Troubleshoot system issues and errors with recommended solutions; contact Information Technology (IT) and/or the software company for support if needed.

Collaborate with Information Technology (IT) as a liaison between Finance and IT.

Facilitate departmental and cross-functional projects and initiatives by researching, collecting, and analyzing information to help resolve issues and recommend solutions.

Stay up to date and make recommendations on best practices for financial system processes and data security.

Test software upgrades and new processes.

Verify financial data requests and review for with completeness and accuracy.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate degree in technology or financial related field preferred.

Two years of experience in a financial services or information technology department preferred.

Excellent Microsoft Office skills, including advanced Excel skills preferred.

Experience writing queries with Structured Query Language (SQL), or using database management software, or report-writing software preferred.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Familiarity with standard accounting policies and procedures preferred. Ability to process sensitive data and maintain confidentiality.

Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational skills and attention to detail.
