Beacon Hill has partnered up with an excellent nonprofit organization in Washington, DC to identify a Financial Analyst! The Financial Analyst will serve as a key player on the Financial Team and will work within the areas of financial reporting, forecasting, and analysis.

Job Duties:

  • Analyzes and provides reports on all data collected within information systems.
  • Assists Senior Director, Station and System Analysis with any and all analysis of station data, as required.
  • Prepares comprehensive reports to management and public broadcasting leaders.
  • Responds to information requests pertaining to data and internal data needs in a timely manner.
  • Reviews financial data submitted as required.
  • Reviews financial data that has been submitted, including required financial reports that are submitted.
  • Follows up, as required, to correct errors in submitted financial data.
  • Assists, as requested, in interpreting policy and correctly filling in financial forms.
  • Assists in annual CSG calculations.
  • Works with Station Grant Administration team to ensure that all data is collected and input into the Gold Standard appropriately.
  • Supports policy reviews.
  • Performs analysis of data to ascertain impacts of various proposed policy changes.
  • Conducts scenario planning and helps the panel interpret data in its decision-making regarding proposed policy changes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or accounting, or equivalent experience
  • Five years' experience performing accounting and/or financial analysis and reporting functions, preferably in a nonprofit environment.
  • Experience utilizing computerized financial systems and related database operations.
  • Knowledge and understanding of accounting and finance theory and practices.
  • Project and/or project team management, and the ability to handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously with a sense of urgency.
  • Advanced analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to manage and interpret financial data.
