JOB SUMMARY

Dairy Farmers of America (DFA) has an immediate job opening for a skilled fleet maintenance mechanic to perform routine maintenance and repair services on different types of fleet vehicles under DOT and company regulations. In this role, the person will also perform preventive fleet maintenance and diagnose mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic systems to identify root causes of fluctuating failures/conditions.

OUR MECHANICS MAKE:

  • $25.93 per hour (with opportunity to make more based on ASE certifications)
  • $5,000.00 Sign On Bonus!

SCHEDULE:

Combination of 2nd and 3rd shift with Sunday and Wednesday off.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy duty and medium duty equipment
  • Two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Refrigeration license required
  • No experience required with certificate;1 year experience without certificate required
  • Mechanic Certifications and CDL-A preferred.1year related experience and/or training; or, equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Must be able to stand, walk, kneel, bend, reach, crawl required for virtually the entire shift
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds and assist others when lifting is required. Manipulation of tools, equipment and truck component is required
  • Must be computer literate, and have experience with engine, ABS, transmission, etc. diagnostic equipment and software
  • Must be able to work in a dusty, greasy environment with moderate to high noise volume
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends and holidays
  • Be able to effectively work in a team environment
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Must be able to pass all pre-employment screens (including drug, background and criminal)
