Job Description

Hybrid: This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. The employee's role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired.

This position requires an employee to be onsite 1-3 times per week

In this role as a Lead Software Domain lead, you will be responsible for the design, development, validation and release of Front/Rear Seat Infotainment Systems Software into General Motors vehicles across the globe.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute software development plans
  • Coordinate and Implement S/W engineering changes
  • Chair cross-functional S/W Product Development Teams (PDT)
  • Customer advocate for user experience definition and development
  • Exercises technical direction over supplier/supplier engineers and engineering support personnel
  • Lead and direct supplier resident engineers in software development activities
  • Will work with technical Lead to fine tune and implement system requirements, participate in the selection of the right suppliers, and optimize integration into vehicles
  • Lead overall communication, coordination and consultation with engineering departments and customers
  • Defend Rear Seat Entertainment System Performance Requirements and Rear Seat Entertainment System Strategy at Program Specific meetings such as CIT's, POPS, VAPIR
  • Develop software development plans
  • Ensure all Rear Seat Entertainment system imperatives are met
  • Lead and execute DFSS studies and implement results
  • Represent GM in vendor and/or customer contacts
  • Manage multiple vehicle programs/suppliers simultaneously
  • Organize peer reviews and participate in other peer reviews
  • Stay abreast of new technology and competitive products

Additional Job Description

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Computer Science or related degree
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in design and development of automotive software engineering
  • Experience with automotive electrical systems and functional sub-systems
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated technical and professional skills
  • Exhibits appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with business partners and meet mutual goals
  • High-level analytical ability where problems are unusual and complex

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in design and development of infotainment software engineering
