Purpose of Job:

Perform accounting & financial analysis for a $2B+ revenue business across a complex operational environment (i.e. multi-currency, multi-ledger, and numerous related party entities), and facilitating continuous improvement efforts, while exemplifying the company's biblically based purpose and values rooted in Love, Care, Service, and Excellence. This position is non-routine in nature, requiring advanced professional experience, competency in technical accounting principles, and the ability to collaboratively complete analysis projects in a multi-dimensional finance team comprised of over 100 professionals & dozens of different specializations. Reports to Corporate Accounting Manager

Job Components:

  • Provide subject matter and technical expertise associated with improving accounting processes and help identify issues pertaining to the application of US GAAP for a variety of complex fulfillment center projects. - 10%
  • Lead in system implementation and continuous improvement initiatives related to complex monthly accounting processes. - 10%
  • Leading the ME closing cycle, preparation of supporting JE, various accruals for freight, OpEx, allocations, coordinating fixed asset additions/disposals, etc. - 10%
  • Develop and maintain inventory controls and procedures to maintain accurate counts and records in accordance with GAAP. - 30%
    • Oversee cycle counts Monthly/Quarterly/semiannually as determined. And FYE full counts annually or as prescribed.
    • Ensure proper segregation of inventory types
    • Work closely with internal audit in various control testing and related safeguarding of inventory.
    • Serve as the primary contact for external auditors at FYE and other 3rd party governance as required.
    • Reconcile counts to recorded balances and sub-ledgers, and book adjustments as needed. Investigate all significant variances.
  • Assemble accurate cost data inputs used in the basis of standard cost. -10%
  • Oversee transactional accounting related to receiving, transfer and shipment of product and intercompany transactions. Including New battery, scrap and Econo production. And its valuation in accordance with GAAP. (including lower of cost or market for scrap inventories and imbedded PPV in new battery inventory valuation adjustments monthly/quarterly.) -10%
  • Support SCM financial analysts in the review of monthly financial results with FC Management. Including support as needed in Capital spending, Budgets, Forecasts and relevant KPI's. - 10%
  • Special projects as assigned. -10%

*Some tasks above may be the sole responsibility of only one Senior Accountant.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting
  • Professional certification such as a CPA and CMA preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of general ledger accounting experience in corporate environment, preferably in wholesale distribution and/pr warehouse operations
  • Experience working with SAP S4 Hana ERP system
  • Experience working with a large and diversified organizational structure and chart of accounts
  • Proven track record working for a company with gross revenues in excess of $1 billion dollars per year
  • Experience working through system implementations, ERP systems preferred
