Our client in the Atlanta area is seeking a Full-Charge Bookkeeper. This is a Full On-Site Contract-to-Hire opportunity.

Under the supervision of the tax accountant assigned to each business client, generate monthly financial statements for small business clients to be reviewed by the accountant.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare monthly financial statements for small businesses from client data.
  • Reconcile bank statements and notify clients of adjustments to their checkbook balances.
  • Process payroll checks for some clients.
  • Prepare accurate and timely payroll tax deposits, quarterly payroll tax returns and year-end W-2s and 1099s.
  • Prepare Property Tax Returns
  • Prepare sales tax returns.
  • Maintain subsidiary records for fixed assets, loan balances and other accounts deemed necessary by the manager.
  • Communicate with clients regarding timely and proper reporting and maintain complete and accurate flow sheets of data.
  • Return client phone calls and emails on the same day and be courteous. This is your opportunity to build strong relationships.
  • Prepare miscellaneous reports for clients as required.
  • Prepare monthly practice management reports as required.
  • Answer the telephone and share other administrative duties.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the owner and/or manager
REQUIRIEMENTS:
  • Requires a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Full-Charge Bookkeeper or Staff Accountant.
  • Preference for proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Desktop.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in handling full cycle payroll.
  • Experience in preparing property and sales tax returns.
  • Additional hours required each January to meet payroll deadlines and complete year-end financials.
