Job Summary

We have an immediate full stack Web Developer opening at one of our premier Fortune 100 corporate client locations in the Midland, Michigan area. This is an exciting opportunity to join a professional team working closely with an agile development team to take business requirements, design specifications, and turn them into a well-architected, fast and flexible features on the company’s flagship websites. This is not an entry level position, but one for a seasoned web developer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Implementation of new features and functionality to website from concept to production
• Upgrades and enhancements to existing websites and applications
• Participate in Scrum meetings to understand requirements and help design solutions
• Validation that functionality and design is accurate in multiple environments (i.e.staging environments, production environments)
• Troubleshooting and correction of errors
• Multiple-browser testing

Skills and Abilities

• Good experience in either frontend or backend development, but willing to demonstrate a full stack mindset by working across both as needed
• Experience with a few of the following: HTML, JavaScript, Vue or other frameworks, CSS, Java, C#, XML
• Solid understanding of modern software development best practices, principles and web standards
• Ability to write code which performs well across multiple browsers, platforms and devices
• Excellent debugging and problem isolation skills
• Ability to troubleshoot code and provide sensible solutions
• Understanding and ability to articulate design capabilities and constraints
• Experience converting business requirements into technical solutions
• Experience with integrating other systems via APIs
• Experience developing for Adobe Experience Manager (or other Content Management Systems) a plus
• Experience with eCommerce and/or Product Information Management a plus
• A curiosity and excitement for new web technologies and techniques

It is very important the person doing this job pays the highest attention to detail and accuracy of code. The ability to perform quality work within the sprint timelines both individually and as part of a team is a must. Good organizational and communication skills are a must. The ability to assume personal ownership and accountability for projects, goals, and outcomes; independently plans and executes own work to ensure completion of individual objectives. The Web Developer must be technically astute and willing to learn new technologies. This position is for a self-starter, someone who can work with a group as well as individually, in a corporate environment.

This position will expose the individual to a great deal of confidential information, so it is critical to assess risks with content in multiple environments to take least-risk approach.

Number one requirement is positive “can-do” attitude with multiple priorities that can change daily; flexibility required to meet business/corporate expectations.

Education and/or Experience

• Relative experience and proof thereof, Degree in Computer Science, Web Development, Web Design or Computer Information Systems experience preferred or in process of completion.
• Demonstrated specialty in either front end or back end development, but full capability of both.
• Demonstrated experience in Internet content manipulation and development.
• AEM; eCommerce background a plus!
• Four to five years’ experience in a corporate environment or in the Digital field.
