10-Month Tenure Track Position
COMPENSATION: Initial salary placement ranges from $55,714 to $87,247, based upon education and experience. The current faculty salary schedule includes five classes and twenty steps with a maximum annual salary of $116,888. A District-paid comprehensive benefit package which includes medical, dental and vision insurances for the employee and dependents, and a $50,000 employee life insurance policy are provided. Representative Duties

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Teach lower division psychology courses utilizing various delivery modes including lecture, lab, and distance education.

Participate in Program Review and curriculum development, and in the assessment, evaluation, and planning of Student Learning Outcomes and Program Learning Outcomes.

Serve on committees as required.

Demonstrate sensitivity in working with students and staff of diverse racial, ethnic, academic and socio-economic backgrounds, sexual orientation, and disabilities by showing respect for differences and the dignity of others.

Promote the success of a diverse student population through careful preparation of course materials and effective teaching methodologies.

Be available to regularly and actively participate in department meetings and other activities related to student success.

Comply with district policies and procedures in the timely performance of all duties, including clerical and administrative responsibilities.
Complete DEAC training at VVC to teach online and hybrid courses.

Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's in psychology OR Bachelor's in psychology AND Master's in counseling, sociology, statistics, neuroscience or social work OR the equivalent.

Must have sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience teaching Social & Behavioral Statistics and Research Methods in Psychology at a community college or university.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Office, classroom, lab and/or on-line environment. Position requires ability to communicate and exchange information. The assignment may include day, weekend, and/or evening classes on campus and/or at off campus locations. Position requires ability and schedule flexibility to accommodate active participation in College and Department Outreach Events such as College and Career Fairs and College and Community Presentations.

Knowledge and Abilities

KNOWLEDGE OF:

Jamovi (or other statistical software such as SPSS, JASP, or SAS) and Canvas is highly desirable.
ABILITY TO:
Teach classes in face-to-face, online, and hybrid modalities.
