Job Description

The OTC (over the counter) Derivatives Valuation Control Group (VCG) is organized into a team of derivatives valuation and quantitative analysts based in the UK, Dallas, Singapore, and Mumbai. The team validates OTC derivatives prices for institutional clients, asset managers, hedge funds, and insurance companies who have outsourced part or all of their custody and/or fund services operations. The VCG team provides the primary support and expertise for complex OTC valuations and queries from both internal and external clients.

The team is looking for a Senior Analyst to assist with OTC derivatives valuation, as well as projects related to new product testing / analysis and client on-boarding. This is a unique opportunity to work in a complex cross-asset environment with exposure to all types of OTC derivatives

Summary of Responsibilities

• Provide independent valuation services to internal and external clients across a wide array of OTC derivative products including rates, credit, equity, FX, inflation, commodity, and volatility / variance swaps
• Analyze valuations/MTM movements on OTC derivatives within client portfolios as part of daily NAV or performance calculations. The candidate should be able to quantify and clearly articulate any valuation movements through the greeks and relevant market data.
• Establish and develop strong relationships with both internal and external clients
• Resolve ad-hoc issues, including queries related to third party valuations, procedures, and processes
• Other functions as required and as the role and analyst's skills develop

Skills and Qualifications

• OTC Derivatives valuation knowledge across multiple asset classes, including sensitivity analysis (pv01, delta, gamma, vega, theta, rho, etc,..) and how these are calculated and used to analyze OTC valuations
• 1-3 years of prior Operations, Middle Office, or Trading Desk experience with a background in derivatives or fund accounting or equivalent school course work/degree
• A proactive, pragmatic approach to problem solving; ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment; self-motivating; exhibit a natural curiosity
• Experience with using Bloomberg, Reuters, and Tableau
• Advanced degree (CFA, MBA) or progression towards, is highly positive.

• What are any disqualifies? None that I can think of
• What does a "typical" day look like in this role? Fund Manager reconciliations and intraday OTC valuations review in the mornings, with EOD OTC valuations review in the afternoons for US and Aus/NZ clients. Afternoon deliveries are fast paced with tight deliveries and a focus on accuracy essential. Project, client meetings, vendor management, and on boarding analysis throughout the day as proficiency/experience warrants.
• What specific work experience (or skills) would stand out on a resume? Knowledge of financial markets, especially in OTC derivatives. CFA candidates. Any previous banking operations experience - trade capture, fund accounting, pricing etc.
