Summary:

The General Labor Position includes but is not limited to: Conventional Business Unit: Hand Stacker, Nibs Feeder, Twist Feeder/Packer, Extrusion Feeder/Piler, Board Washer. Continuous Business Unit: PnP Feeder Packer. Employees must adhere to all Safety, JSA (Job Safety Analysis), and Production GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices), HCCCP (Hershey Company Critical Control Point) and demonstrate Hershey Values. Must be flexible to work multiple schedules on the assigned shift.

Major Duties/Responsibilities:

• Hand stacker: inspect and hand stack cases on skids or mods of like product using stacking pattern as guide.
• Twist and PnP feeder: remove candy from the infeed belt and places onto cello to feed into the wrapping machine. Inspects the candy, removes defects and places in rework bin.
• Twist, Nibs and PnP packers' place correct amount of high quality candy into cases, verifies code date, cello and updates inspection sheets.
• Extrusion: feeder places boards onto the extruder end to end leaving no gaps or overlaps.
• Piler removes full boards of candy off the extruder and places them into racks piling from top to bottom.
• Feeder/pilers disassembles/reassembles extruders using the proper LOTO (Lockout Tagout) procedures
• Feeder/pilers do screen and candy checks as directed
• Extrusion board washer attendant places dirty boards and tubs into board washer r for cleaning and ensures machine is working and cleaned properly
• Properly cleans equipment, using proper LOTO and cleaning procedures

Physical Demands:

• Required to stand
• Using both hands, wrists, back, arms and elbows to remove candy from belt 37 to 100 bags per minute
• Repetitive use of hands, wrists, legs, back and arms lifting full cases 6 lb. up to 60 lbs., at a maximum of 12 cases per minute squatting/placing cases on skid
• Repetitive use of hands, wrist and arms, scraping boards with paddle and placing them in the board washer
• When piling, use hands, arms, shoulders and back to adjust/move/push rack.
• Lift from 5 to up to 40 lbs. of machine parts to clean, disassemble and assemble machine.
• Hands and arms: Troubleshooting Case Erectors and Case Packers

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:

• Proficiency of the English language
• Must understand and use the 3-step lockout tagout procedure
• Possess good time management skills
• Ability to work independently and in a group environment
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations
