Job Description Summary

Supports production line by setting up and operating auxiliary line equipment and assists line operator to produce a quality product and meet production throughput goals.

Job Description

  • Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures
  • Equipment operation:
  • Set up and operate line auxiliary equipment. This is to include all non-primary line equipment such as coders, case erectors, tapers, check weighers, etc.
  • Monitor auxiliary equipment for proper operation during production.
  • Identify and report problems or machine issues that prevent making a quality product or running at required throughput rates.
  • Monitor line production in order to detect and report quality issues with the final product.
  • Provide assistance and breaks to any and all positions on the production line.
  • Perform quality audits to insure correct weights, seals, blends, and codes.
  • Assist adjacent lines when needed.
  • Actively participate in and support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Maintain current knowledge on the proper operation of auxiliary equipment by participating in machine set ups and training for lines not currently assigned.
  • Take direction from the Operator.
  • Actively participate in Company Safety and Good Manufacturing Practice Programs.

    Physical Environment/Demands:
    • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds (40-pound Team Lift) and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently.
    • Exposed to a noisy environment that varies from hot to cold in temperature.
    • Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist and hand movements required for job actions and procedures.
    • Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment.
    • Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties. Ability to operate work related equipment
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
    • Employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily. If requested, reasonable accommodations will be made to enable employees with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job, absent undue hardship.
    • Exposure to manufacturing environments: loud noise, excessive heat, cold, wet, slippery conditions, dirt, fumes, smoke, humidity, oils, smells and allergens.
    • Exposed to temperatures ranging from -20 degrees below zero to 35 degrees Fahrenheit in Freezer Operation and 37 degrees to 90 degrees Fahrenheit in Plant Operation.
    • May have to sample food while evaluating Lamb Weston products.
    • Climbing to various heights via stairs or ladders on a regular basis.

    Position Requirements: (Minimum qualifications required to successfully perform the job or be considered)

    Education/ Certifications: (Required & Preferred)
    • High School Diploma or GED

    Skills and Experience:
    • Good communications skills- both written and verbally
    • Six months of related production based experience preferred

This compensation is specific to this position and takes into account a number of variables. Actual compensation may be higher or lower in the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to a candidate's work location, job duties, experience and expertise. A reasonable hourly estimate of the range for this role based on the variables previously mentioned is: $18.88
