KOMAN Advantage is seeking experienced trade workers who have 3-5 years experience installing acoustical ceilings and general sheet rock. Work will be performed on a military base. Candidates must be able to pass a Background check and gain military base access to be considered for this position. Pay is based on current Davis Bacon Rates.

Essential Functions:

An employee in this class has general construction and maintenance responsibilities for a large facility. Duties involve performing the actual work, and in some cases, supervising unskilled or semi-skilled workers in the tasks. Work is performed under general supervision.

  • Lays out, fabricates, and installs sheet metal.
  • Welds and performs related construction tasks.
  • Repairs and maintains building interiors and exteriors.
  • Builds wooden structures; does sheeting and rough carpentry.
  • Paints interiors and exteriors of buildings with a brush, roller or spray gun.
  • Performs general grounds keeping duties.
  • Performs related work as required.
Education/Certifications:

Graduation from a standard vocational or high school and some experience as a journeyman in one of the applicable trades; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.

Required Qualifications:
  • Must be able to obtain security clearance for military facilities.
  • Must be willing to accept a temporary position in Yuma, AZ.
  • Must have 3-5 years work experience with installing acoustical ceilings.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must own his/her own tools.
  • Considerable knowledge of the standard practices, materials, methods, and equipment of the various trades required.
  • Skill in using tools and materials required by the applicable trade.
  • Ability to work from diagrams, sketches, and oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to work effectively with fellow employees.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
  • Continually required to stand, sit and walk
  • Frequently required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl
  • Continually required to talk or hear
  • Continually exposure to wet and/or humid conditions (non-weather) and work near moving mechanical parts
  • Occasionally work in high, precarious places, around fumes, airborne particles, or toxic chemicals
  • Continually exposure to outside weather conditions and vibration
  • Occasional exposure to risk of radiation
  • While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually very loud
  • The employee must occasionally lift and /or move up to 100 pounds/ continually lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include: Close vision; Distance vision; Color vision; Peripheral vision; Depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • Specific job duties that are affected by the environmental conditions selected above.
  • Environmental conditions drive every second of field work
