Job Description Summary:
PayPal is seeking an experienced Manager of Website Analytics to join PayPal.com organization. This team supports the Global Website team by delivering insights, developing hypotheses, designing experiments and driving the implementation of statistical methodologies or models to help optimize the website for consumer, SMB, and large enterprises. This individual is an expert in website analytics, website funnels, landing page optimizations, experimentation, and SEO. This position is a high visibility role at PayPal where website is the largest acquisition channel.

Job Description:

Core responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of analysts supporting website analytics, SEO ROI, and experimentation in optimizing the impact of website funnels across various stages of the lifecycle.
    • Coordinate the work of the analysts and eventually provide training
    • Provide technical supervision to analysts and massively supply insights to stakeholders.
    • Supervise the development of statistically correct test designs to secure that output is correct and delivers the insights that are needed
    • Be an expert in Google Analytics, Amplitude, Python, SQL, and presentations
    • Provide senior leadership with key metrics and insigths with an excellent leadership skills and communication
  • Drive development of appropriate methodologies to improve website analytics performance
    • Guide team to perform deep-dive analysis using analytical and statistical tools (primarily SQL and Python/R/SAS or similar) on very large, complex, multi-dimensional datasets
    • Drive development, test and implementation of statistical methodologies or models where needed
    • Working knowledge to query in Google Cloud Platform and BI tools such as Tableau/Looker
  • Generate actionable insights and recommendations and communicate them to senior stakeholders
    • Consolidate analytical output and insights of the various website teams to get to an overall better understanding of what is necessary in order to drive bigger/incremental impact and communicate this to the stakeholders
    • Ensure rigorous quality control over data, analyses and metrics, and organizational clarity and alignment for key business and website metrics
  • Reporting
    • Secure preparation of input for weekly/monthly reportings by partnering with analytics teams, finance, and website teams.
  • Other
    • Partner with other Analytics teams to ensure best practice sharing and collection of insights

Essential Requirements:
  • Education:
    • Degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science, economics or operations research preferred
  • Experience:
    • At least 7 years experience gained as website analyst, data science, or in a similar analytical position
    • 3 years experience in leading small teams of analysts
    • Experience in Google Analytics and Amplitude
    • Experience in SQL/Python and BI tools is a must
    • Experience working in global, virtual teams a plus
  • Skills & Abilities:
    • Sound knowledge in statistics, mathematics and marketing
    • Commercially savvy - able to translate analytical studies into actionable business insights and business problems into implementable models
    • Ability to structure problems and synthesize large quantities of data into clear conclusions / recommendation
    • Programming skills (R, Python, SAS or similar, SQL, Excel, BI software (ideally Tableau)
