Description
The Governor's Residence is seeking a Staff Assistant to assist in the management of the residence operations.

Must have availability to work evenings & weekends, every Nebraska home football game & to serve in an "on call" capacity. During the Holidays, additional hours may be required.

Location: 1425 H St, Lincoln, NE 68508

Schedule: Schedule will vary week to week - The majority of hours will be mid - late afternoon, evenings & weekends. This position will be required to work every Nebraska home football game.

Examples of Work
The Governor's Residence Staff Assistant will assist in the management of the residence operations. Specific responsibilities include:

Assist with management of facility operations, including maintenance, grounds keeping

Assist with over-seeing Residence Staff members

Assist with planning of residence events at the request of the Governor or other governmental or non-profit organizations.

Fill in for the House Manager when needed
Qualifications / Requirements
REQUIREMENTS:
Coursework/training in administrative/office support functions, procedures, and methods including the operation of personal computers and office equipment; or areas related to the programs and functions of the employing agency.

OR

Experience in customer service or public contact; or applying criteria/regulations; and/or performing administrative/office/secretarial support work including use of personal computers and office equipment.

PREFERRED: 2 + years of comparable experience in hospitality, event planning or catering. High School diploma
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Outstanding customer service

Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize diverse demands

Knowledge of state government structure

Event experience a plus
