Role Overview

We are looking for a motivated engineer to join the Arm Infrastructure Line of Business's Performance and Solutions Team. You will be working in a high growth and high demand group which strives to bring the best of Arm to partner ecosystems. In this role, you will join our team to discover bottlenecks, optimize performance, and build the latest generation for 5G as well as networking.

5G and networking is a high growth area. At Arm, career growth as well as development of a rich set of skills through self-teaching, training, and certification is our focus.

Responsibilities:

You can expect to work on different 5G and networking stacks and determine how to improve performance and agility on Arm architecture including:

Understanding real world use cases and building workloads to model these.

  • Running experiments on real and simulated platforms.
  • Identifying bottlenecks across software, micro-architecture, and architecture.
  • Providing guidance for optimizing networking software running on Arm systems.
  • Developing and improving innovative tools for architectural exploration and performance analysis.
  • Crafting and developing multicore data plane networking software comprising Ethernet, IP/UDP, IPSec modules in C/Assembly in Linux environment.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or Engineering.
  • Understanding of computer architecture.
  • Knowledge and passion for learning 5G/networking, performance analysis, and diagnostics.
  • Conceptual knowledge of 5G RAN, core stack and experience in networking. Detailed knowledge will be instructed on the job.
  • Knowledge of Network Packet processing stacks such as DPDK, FD.io/VPP, Linux kernel networking, eBPF/XDP, IPSec, OVS and CNIs.
  • Conceptual knowledge in workload setup, load distribution/scale-up, performance data collection. (Please note that this is not a RF/protocol test engineer profile.)
  • Capable of working both in teams and independently.
  • High degree of initiative and a proven problem solver.
  • Proficient in English language, both written and spoken.
  • Good communicator, with an ability to work and communicate at a detailed or high level.
  • Ability to think creatively.
"Nice To Have" Skills and Experience:
  • Knowledge of performance analysis and optimizations of software stacks in bare-metal, virtualized, or cloud-native forms.
  • Background in NR or LTE, transport protocols and memory architecture.
