The Graphic Installation Specialist participates in the layout, development, and production of graphic art and visual materials for promotions, advertisements, packaging, and other mediums. Primary responsibilities include wrapping vehicles, application of fleet graphics, wall murals, banners, rigid panel signs, and other signage including mounting and/or lamination of prints while ensuring the efficient production of quality, accurate graphics. Completes graphic installations on windows, walls and vehicles, both in-house and at customer locations, throughout the Sothern California area. Assists with other print shop production non-large format materials as needed.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Completes installs efficiently without sacrificing quality of work.
  • Makes precise cuts with knife in vinyl without damaging surfaces.
  • Trains others in full vehicle wraps. (Box Trucks, Trailers, Small Trucks or Vans, and Passenger vehicles.)
  • Completes layout for graphic art and visual materials for promotions, advertisements, websites, packaging and other mediums.
  • Assists with setting production work schedule for processing requests. Able to plan and coordinate, on short notice, printing of rush jobs.
  • Operates printing production equipment as needed. Properly sets up various types of print jobs.
  • Prepares layout of digital print-ready files; determines media types, weights, finishes, and sizes for project application
  • Coordinates with Print Shop Manager for preparing job cost estimates and job specifics.
  • Develops Digital Printing Career Training Program for certification, and fulfills role of instructor.
  • Responsibilities include training employees or program participants; planning, assigning, and overseeing work; and reporting problems to Print Shop Manager or Director of Contract Services as appropriate.
  • Complies and ensures adherence to project requirements. Maintains a safe working environment through inspections and training.
  • Driving records must be acceptable by company's insurance vendor.
  • This job provides team leadership guidance to other print shop installer trainees or program participants (1-2 people).

  • Education & Experience
    • Team Lead experience.
    • Some college in graphics design preferred.
    • Minimum 3 years of directly related installation experience and prior vehicle wrapping of a minimum of 30 vehicles.
    • Demonstrated ability to operate light-duty hand tools, drills, saws, tape measures and be comfortable working on a ladder at heights.
    • Demonstrated ability to install wide-format vinyl prints on windows, walls, posts, ground surfaces, vehicles, and hang sign panels, as well as interior and exterior graphics and letters.
    • Strong communication, both oral and written, and interpersonal skills.
    • Intermediate to advanced skill in application of cut vinyl to various substrates.
    • Abilities to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
    • Mechanically inclined.
    • Strong creative thinking skills.
    • Spanish / English bilingual preferred.
    • Punctual and dependable attendance.
    • Free from alcohol and drug abuse.
    • Understands the basic philosophy of Goodwill and participates fully in carrying out its mission.
    • Adheres to Goodwill's values of Respect, Integrity, Service, & Excellence.
    • Formal certifications and/or training (3M, PDAA, Fellers, etc.) is preferred, but not required.
