What is the position where you can add value?

We are actively recruiting for a Grinder - 1st shift (8:00 am to 4:30pm)

for our Blauvelt, NY plant location within our Specialty Packaging

Division of Tekni-Plex.

The Grinder is responsible for grinding plastic materials which will be

used on production lines using established standards and practices. This

is an entry level position that will allow you the opportunity to be

trained in other areas on the production floor.

For the most qualified candidate, we will provide on the job training

with our team of experienced Production Helpers and Operators.

What will you do?

Starts and operates the grinder machine
• Collects materials to be ground at each production line
• Keeps the working area clean and neat
• Replaces operators when needed
• Fills out reports related to grinding operation
• Keeps a record of pounds ground for each production line
• Set up and calibrate production equipment to meet specification of production order
• Inspects product for conformance to specifications, visually or using gauges or templates, and adjusts machine to correct errors
• Removes scrap plastic and rubber to proper locations
• Completes daily paperwork and maintains all equipment and advises the Manager of repairs when necessary
• Operate a production station as assigned by Production manager
• Following standard methods and techniques, processes materials to ensure it meets customer and product specification, and alerts the Manager when standards are not met.
• Maintains operation of production equipment
• Monitors machine specifications as directed
• Promotes safety, ensures quality products and actively participates in the continuous improvement process.
• Performs other duties that may be assigned.

What skills do you bring to the role?

  • High School graduate, GED certification required. • Prior experience in a production/manufacturing environment, preferred. • Basic computer skills and proven ability to understand basic math concepts to include with measurement, volume, and distance. • Ability to lift and carry 10 to 50 pounds. • Must be able to follow instructions provided in written, oral and diagram form.
