Position Summary

MEPPI's Corporate Accounting Department is looking for an experienced Group Controller with knowledge of the manufacturing industry to manage and support day-to-day financial activities of our business divisions while overseeing cost and projects accounting personnel. In addition, you will be involved in the budgeting and planning process through support and analysis of assisting and analyzing the business divisions plans.

Essential Functions

• Manage quarterly and year-end external audits.
• Manage month and year-end closings for the Business Group.
• Develop and prepare internal monthly financial reports and analysis of actual operating results in order to keep top management informed of Business Group's performance.
• Prepare reports/supporting documents for outside sources (Govt., Tax Accountants, etc.).
• Manage Accounting Department staff according to Company policies and procedures to effectively achieve Company and department objectives. Develop employees by training, cross-training, and providing continuing education opportunities. Conduct performance review and provide input for salary decisions.
• Manage Business Group's system of accounts and records on all Business Group transactions and assets.
• Work with corporate internal audit in the areas of inventory control and fixed asset control for the Business Group. Assist in preparation of documentation where necessary (process, procedure, JSox).
• Ensure compliance of Business Group's operating procedures and policies with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Establish and maintain policies/procedures as needed.
• Quantify foreign exchange exposure for the Business Group and ensure exchange contracts are in compliance with hedge accounting (FAS133).
• Prepare and consolidate Business Group's financial plans in conjunction with the Groups operating divisions.
• Serve as interface between Accounting and IT on Business System support and other programming issues.
• Lead Business Group on importing issues: Drawback, Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT), Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or other financial-related function with a minimum 10 years of relevant accounting experience and minimum 5 years of management experience, or equivalent education and experience.
• Advanced knowledge of cost accounting methods and GAAP.
• Broad knowledge of ERP business solutions and the manufacturing/cost accounting features of it.
• Advanced interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills required to communicate with employees and auditors.
• Advanced analytical and problem solving skills.
• Advanced computer skills, with emphasis on MS Office products and spreadsheet capabilities.
