Health Plan Operations Learning and Development Internship

Oregon, Idaho, Utah, or Washington- Remote

This twelve-week internship is scheduled to begin in August

Join our team and build your Learning and Development skillset by contributing to a diverse set of projects that focus on leadership development, talent management, and the customer experience. In this role, you will report directly to our Director, Health Plan Operational Excellence (HPOpEx) and partner with members of the Health Plan Operations team to assist and support learning and development projects. Initiatives that you'll focus on will both impact the professional growth of our employees and help our more seasoned leaders improve the experience we offer our customers.

The Learning & Development Intern will be responsible for various administrative functions and assist with the development and delivery of the following programs:

  • HPO University is a six-month development and networking program designed to help new and emerging leaders deepen their continuous improvement, project management, and change management skills
  • Leading for Customer Experience is a series of training sessions designed to engage Cambia leaders in discussions about simplifying the customer experience and how leaders can continue to move the needle on a customer-first culture


General Functions and Outcomes:
  • Support the administration and logistics of learning and development programs and training sessions
  • Create and disseminate program documentation, marketing, and communication materials to support delivery of educational programming
  • Analyze and deliver information to inform learning and development program recruiting and selection processes
  • Optimize training processes and workflows; suggest and implement improvements
  • Support Health Plan Operations as needed


Key qualifications and experience:
  • Must be currently enrolled or have completed an undergraduate or graduate degree in Communication, Education, Human Resources, Instructional Design, Learning and Development, Organizational Development, Psychology, or a related field within the past nine months
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work well with a diverse employee population are essential
  • Resourceful, curious, and open to feedback
  • Must demonstrate organizational and project management/prioritization skills, attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, using discretion and independent judgement
  • Ability to synthesize information from disparate sources into logical conclusions and recommendations
  • Analytical ability to identify problems, develop solutions, and implement a chosen course of action
  • Self-guided; creative; responsible; eager to work with other departments and independently
  • Must have the ability to interact professionally and effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Experience with MS Office Suite
  • Proficiency in use of web-based collaboration tools (i.e. Microsoft Teams and Zoom)
  • Prior experience with SharePoint and/or Articulate 360 Software a plus
  • Ability to learn new tools and technologies
  • Candidate must possess a minimum cumulative 3.0 undergraduate grade point average
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Must reside in Idaho, Oregon, Utah, or Washington during internship timeline
