Job Description

Volunteers of America, Sleepy Eye Care Center, is looking for a Home Health Aide to join its team. The HHA role is to ensure that our residents receive daily nursing care and activities of daily living.

We will train you!

Shifts available:

6:30 am to 2:30 pm

8:00 am - 12 pm shift scheduled as needed

Must work every other weekend

$2,000 retention bonus when you work 24 or more hours a week

Wage: $12.70 to $13.70 an hour

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assists residents with activities of daily living.
• Administer medications and treatments.
• Documentation of cares given and pertinent observations. Reports any observations to the nurse.
• Assists with ambulation, transfers and exercise.
• Reports any suspected abuse or neglect per facility policy.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High school graduate or equivalent.
2. Process the ability to read, write and carry out directions.
3. Have demonstrated the ability to work with little supervision and make appropriate judgment.
4. Have demonstrated dependability, tact, and ability to follow orders.
5. Experience in an Assisted Living Facility or Memory Care Unit strongly preferred.
6. Customer service oriented.
7. Possesses coordination and dexterity required to provide resident care skillfully.
8. Ability to utilize computers and other electronic devices for tasks such as timekeeping, in-servicing and documentation.
