PART TIME AND FULL TIME POSITIONS AVAILABLE

 

As a Cook at Springhill Suites by Marriott, you will support our full service Bar in the evenings preparing savory bar bites to compliment craft beers and premium wines. You’ll ensure our guests feel at home and well cared for as you contribute to creating a memorable stay experience during their visit in the Carolinas! 

 

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous hotel or food service experience required, previous Marriott experience a plus
  • Must be comfortable around heavy duty kitchen equipment
  • Able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Able to lift, push and pull up to 25lbs
  • Able to work evening shift, weekends and holidays
  • Have good verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask in fast paced environment, good time management
  • Able to work independently but also as a team
  • Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test per company policy unless prohibited by state or provincial law
  • Ability to pass a background check if 18 years of age or older, which may include but is not limited to credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references per company policy unless prohibited by federal, state or provincial law.
Responsibilities

  • Have a warm and welcoming personality that can engage with guest and genuinely provide exceptional guest service and perform service recovery when needed.
  • Properly and efficiently prepare food for fixed evening bar menu accommodating guest special request
  • Must have basic knowledge of production and operation in all  kitchen areas.
  • Must be familiar with proper use and cleaning of relevant kitchen equipment and machinery.
  • Rotate food in walks ins and freezers to minimize waste and spoilage
  • Complete brand required food & temp logs, freezer pull and waste logs
  • Assist with food and supplies inventory control and placing orders
  • Maintain clean and safe work area and perform all duties in compliance with brand standard, report all unsafe or unusual conditions, wash dishes, mop floors, take out trash.
  • Work with cleaning chemicals in accordance with all safety guidelines listed on the MSDS sheets. Wear personal protective equipment when necessary.
  • Follow required NC health and food safety regulations, sanitation procedures for food handling and safety. Obtain and maintain any food handling certificates that may apply
  • Be prepared for Marriott brand standards audit
  • Adhere to Company uniform and attendance policies
  • Adhere to Company code of conduct
  • Proudly represent the brand and company
  • Other duties may be assigned
