HR Generalist

We are looking for a HR Generalist to join our US-based Escalent HR team. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a variety of functional areas of HR. Key areas of focus will include talent acquisition, employee relations, internal communications, HR data & reporting and onboarding / offboarding processes.

You would join a team that's central to key strategic initiatives of the company and led by a Chief HR Officer who reports to the CEO. You would support each member of our team and own some key processes and projects. We have a plethora of strategic initiatives in motion to offer you the opportunity to broaden your exposure while leveraging your prior experience.

As part of our team, you would support our full-time North American workforce of about 400 employees. The Escalent workforce is remote first with employees located across 39 states in the US and 2 Provinces of Canada. Headquarters is located in Metro Detroit (Livonia) Michigan, and while we'd love to work with you in-person at some point, we are open to individuals in any location.

Responsibilities:

General:

  • Explain company benefit programs to candidates and employees.
  • Ensure up to date and accurate records in multiple HR systems including those for new hires, terminations, employee changes & personal information, LOAs, EEO reporting, benefits and other info as needed.
  • Ensure federal and state compliance in record keeping, I-9 documentation (E-Verify), medical files, Workers' compensation files, and other confidential employee information
  • Help to more broadly leverage the HRIS system to eliminate administrative tasks, empower employees, and meet the other needs of the organization
  • Participate in the preparation of all required reports and filings (EEO-1)
  • Assist in tracking reporting of HR-specific performance metrics
  • Monitor and maintain the HR priorities calendar for the team
  • Special projects and other assignments as needed

Talent Acquisition :
  • Update job postings and ensure that they are distributed via our recruiting partnerships as intended, ensuring legislation requirements are met
  • Assess incoming resumes, tagging any that fit other positions
  • Conduct initial screening calls to qualify candidates
  • Schedule interviews, preparing the candidate & hiring teams accordingly
  • Distribute and collect interview scorecards & update candidate records accordingly
  • Disposition candidates and update requisition status
  • Prepare offer letters
  • Conduct reference checks
  • Coordinate the pre-hire communications & orientation of new employees
  • Attend job fairs and careers events

Employee Relations:
  • Establish collaborative business relationships with employees and leaders across the business
  • In collaboration with the Compliance team, deploy required training during on-boarding process
  • Assist with the system administration for the performance management platform.
  • Conduct Exit Interviews and assist with the off-boarding process.

Qualifications:

General:
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business or another related field required
  • Minimum 2 years of previous experience in other HR positions, such as HR Assistant or Recruiting Coordinator
  • Must have strong customer service orientation, with sense of urgency when responding to employee inquiries
  • Candidates with strong project management skills and who are results-driven by nature highly preferred
  • Understanding of typical human resources processes and systems
  • Strong technical skills, ability to build and prepare reports and presentations in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to discern when to act independently, and when to seek guidance from colleagues before acting
  • Certification, such as Professional (PHR) preferred
  • Must be driven to produce results on-time. Deploys personal strategies and habits to complete work within desired timelines
  • Prior experience utilizing or administering HR systems such as an applicant tracking systems (ATS), databases (HRIS), performance management systems, etc.

Talent Acquisition :
  • Quick study, capable of learning quickly about our company and the positions to be filled Experience conducting various types of interviews (in person, online, phone) for initial screening and structured interviewing.
  • Able to effectively manage multiple candidates and/or requisitions at various stages in the process
  • Prior experience leveraging social media usage for business communications - LinkedIn, Twitter, or Facebook

Employee Relations :
  • Prior experience engaging with a professional workforce (virtually or in person)
  • Capable of interpreting company polices and responding to employee inquiries accordingly.
  • Maintains high standards for responsiveness to employees, leaders and colleagues
  • Experienced in maintaining confidentiality and security of employee data.
  • A person of integrity
