Job Description

MV Transportation is seeking an entry level Human Resource Assistant to plan, direct, and administer all work and activity pertaining to Human Resources.

Key Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee new hire process, employee status changes, terminations, benefits.
  • Recruiting, screening, and interviewing candidates.
  • Attendance tracking.
  • Manage Employee Relations.
  • Assist with adhoc division projects.
  • Managing benefits information.
  • Coordinate training sessions and seminars.
  • Performs employee orientation and updates employee records/files.
  • Provide administrative support to employees, vendors, and corporate office.
  • Assist with all internal and external HR related inquiries or requests.
  • Maintain both hard and digital copies of employees' records.
  • Schedule meetings, interviews, HR events and maintain agendas.
  • Support other assigned functions and areas.
  • Assist with payroll check distribution.
  • Lead projects such as Health Fair, Benefits Open Enrollment, and year-end W-2 distributions.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate, Federal, and State legal requirements.
Reporting:
  • Work with division staff to prepare/compile monthly reports for the client and General Manager.
  • Run and investigate daily, weekly, and monthly reports required by the client and General Manager.
  • Assist with other reporting as required by our client, General Manager, and the local management team.
Talent Requirements:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent technology skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Transportation industry experience is a plus.
