Job Summary
The Equipment Operator operates heavy equipment in compliance with the DCP's operating safety policies and procedures. Operators load and unload equipment from vehicles and trailers. This position provides recommendations for maintaining and improving environmental performance, while ensuring the company's equipment, material, and the work site are maintained, kept clean, and stored in a safe manner.
What you will be responsible for

- Operates back-hoe, forklift and other equipment and motor vehicles.
- Uncovers field and plant pipelines to be repaired and backfills after repair; digs ditches for new pipeline or replacement of sections of existing pipe.
- Uses backhoe to load pipe and material on trucks using forks on front of the backhoe if applicable.
- Loads dump truck with front bucket.
- Finishes grade on roads and new locations after repairs.
- Safely loads, secures and unloads equipment.
- Keeps machinery lubricated and performs minor repairs; inspects and maintains vehicles and equipment (including all tools).
- Performs general maintenance and repair work with maintenance crew.
- Knows capabilities of specific types of heavy equipment, understands the proper applications, has knowledge of critical lift policies and procedures.
- Operates and maintains hoisting equipment (including slings, chains, and cables) under 5 tons capacity (i.e.Drott), and capacity between 5 and 20 tons (i.e. boom truck, auto crane,gallion).
- Operates and maintains assigned light and heavy trucks.
- Has current knowledge of excavation and trenching procedures and standards and fills out daily report.
- May provide work direction to a small crew, assisting employees in other classifications or with less experience in acquiring job knowledge.
- Executes procedures safely, and reports accidents, investigation techniques and safety auditing.
- Accurately reads and interprets maps, and as-built surveys.
- Uses various hand tools and air tools.
QualificationsMinimum 3yearsand max around 10years.This section should list the necessaryrequirements,education, experience,skills,abilities, knowledge,competencies, and qualificationsfor the job.
- Must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A).
- Minimum High School degree or equivalent.
- Basic computer skills preferred.
- Ability to produce understandable and accurate reports and records.
- Ability to follow written or spoken work instructions
- Prior experience operating a backhoe is highly desired.
- Ability to pass the company back-hoe and other equipment operator tests, demonstrating proficiency in operation of the equipment.
- Must have the appropriate vehicle operator's (e.g. CDL) license.
- Must meet DOT/FHWA requirements (drug testing, periodic physicals).
- Satisfactory safety record
- Willing to work rotating shifts and overtime as needed.
- Currently live, or be willing to relocate, to within 35 miles of the reporting location.
Special DemandsThis job operates both inside gas plant conditions as well as outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity. Noise level may be loud at times. Regularly stoops, squats, kneels and crouches for durations up to 3 minutes. Periodically pulls/pushes doors open to move around the gas plant. Occasionally exerts pulling force of 130 pounds. Frequently may lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds.May occasionally climb A-frame ladders.Occasional travel will be required
