Job Info

Cooley Dickinson Health Care, an affiliate of Massachusetts General Hospital, is currently seeking a BC/BE infectious disease specialist to join our employed multispecialty group. Our next incumbent should be patient-focused and have a demonstrated track record of providing compassionate and expert health care.

This position will be joining a team of two physicians who treat patients in a judgment-free environment that respects all cultures, races, religions, sexual orientations, and lifestyle choices. This role would be expected to participate in on-call coverage with the ID team, to provide 24/7, 365 days/year coverage for both office and inpatient services. The current schedule includes one on-call weekend per month.

Our current team of ID physicians see both inpatients and outpatients with a variety of medical conditions including HIV, tick-borne diseases, cancer-related complications, and occasional tropical and travel-related diseases. While the practice is based out of a community hospital, we offer modern therapies such as fecal microbial transplantation, wound care, HCV treatment, and HIV care supported by a local HIV support organization with Ryan White funding. Our oncology service is tightly affiliated with the MGH Cancer Center at Cooley Dickinson. We are also proud that we were one of the first hospitals in the country to use UV light to try to combat hospital-associated infections. Our ICU is staffed by intensivists, with a significantly lower mortality than the national average.

Our Infection Prevention (IP) Department has been a strong, vital, and successful department, using data and innovation to continually improve the quality of patient care. It enjoys support and respect from the administration and has a positive working relationship and easy communication with all other hospital departments. The Department consists of a part-time Medical Director, one full-time IP Nurse Manager, one full-time nurse, and part-time support from a data analyst.

About the organization:

The Cooley Dickinson Health Care system, an affiliate of Massachusetts General Hospital and Mass General Brigham, has a medical staff of approximately 500 active members (physicians and advanced practice clinicians). We pride ourselves on being a progressive, empowering employer, and a place for everyone.
