Primary Responsibility / Summary

Serves as initial point of contact (telephone and in person) for job seeking and business customers interested in using program services. Assists with initial assessment and eligibility determination; advises on customer flow through services.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1.Greets visitors, provides basic orientation overview to available services, and assists with initial registration.
2.Answers incoming calls, provides accurate information or transfers call to appropriate staff member, or refers caller to appropriate partner services.
3.Develops trusting relationships with job seeking customers to encourage active participation in services, and engage them in follow-up.
4.Advises customers on requirements for enrollment and assists with eligibility documentation and determination.
5.Contributes to maintaining a safe working environment by reporting any potentially hazardous conditions, or incidents involving safety and security.
6.Conducts data entry to document center usage and capture customer information.
7.Assists with general clerical duties and coverage of the resource area, as assigned.

Education & Experience

•High school diploma.
•Some college preferred.
•2 years of office/clerical experience; 45-50 wpm; 10-key by touch.
•Experience in a workforce development program preferred.
•Positive outgoing demeanor.
•Strong interpersonal communication skills; possess abilities to work with all levels of employees and the public.
•Some experience working with diverse populations; basic understanding of ADA helpful
•Multi-tasker; well organized.
•Shift flexibility and overtime when needed.
•Bi-lingual fluency (e.g., English/ASL, English/Spanish, etc.) and ability understand another culture as required by the program or local community helpful.
