The Office of the Vice President for Research is launching InSPIRE, the Institute for Strategic Partnerships, Innovation, Research, and Education, located in Panama City. We are seeking to fill the Marketing, Communications, & Public Affairs Director position.
ResponsibilitiesResponsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with the center's goals and objectives; Collaborating with leadership to identify key target audiences and create tailored messaging strategies; Leading efforts to strengthen and promote the center's brand in the scientific community, industry, and the public sphere; and ensuring consistent brand messaging across all communication channels.
Oversees the creation of engaging and informative content, including research highlights, case studies, and success stories; Collaborates with researchers to translate complex scientific concepts into accessible and compelling content for diverse audiences; Develops and manages the center's online presence through the website, social media, and other digital platforms; Utilizes analytics to track and measure the effectiveness of digital marketing campaigns.
Identifies and cultivates partnerships with industry, academia, and government organizations; Collaborates with external stakeholders to amplify the impact of the center's research; Cultivates relationships with media outlets to secure coverage of the center's research achievements; Prepares press releases, media kits, and other materials for distribution.
Plans and executes events, conferences, and seminars to showcase the center's research achievements and foster collaborations; Coordinates logistics and promotional activities for both virtual and in-person events; Develops and manages the marketing budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources to maximize impact.
QualificationsBachelor's degree and six years of experience related to media, communications, and/or marketing services; or a high school diploma or equivalent and ten years of experience. (Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to ten years.)
