Position Information: DescriptionThe School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science is seeking two instructional faculty starting January 2021. The School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science supports degree programs and cutting edge research in areas related to Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, and Biomedical Engineering.  Undergraduate degree programs are offered in areas of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, and Cyber Security.  Graduate degree programs are offered in the areas of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Cyber Security, and Biomedical Engineering.  Our academic programs serve a total of 650 students, approximately 525 at the undergraduate level and 125 at the graduate level.  Our programs and research provide a balance of theoretical and practical, hands-on experiences that prepare students for academic careers, further study, and employment in a variety of sectors.For more information about SEECS, please visit: https://engineering.und.edu/academics/electrical-and-computer-science/index.htmlDuties & ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will teach an 80% load as part of graduate programs in Data Science and Analytics.  Other teaching related expectations could include undergraduate academic advising, and mentoring teaching assistants in instructional activities.  Service activities associated with this position include 20% effort for participation on committees, attendance at meetings, professional development activities and so forth.Required Competencies

    Evidence of the ability to teach, inspire, and mentor studentsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrated ability to work with and engage diverse students and colleagues in both face-to-face and online formatsEffective interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, and studentsAn ability to contribute to the collegial environment within the school
Minimum Requirements
    Completion of a Master’s degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, or a closely related field.Demonstrated Teaching Effectiveness.Successful completion of criminal history records check.

    Completion of a PhD degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, or a closely related field Experience teaching the topics of Databases and Data EngineeringExperience teaching the topics of AI/Machine Learning/Deep LearningExperience teaching the topics of Predictive Modeling/Data VisualizationExperience teaching graduate courses
