Job Description

The Inverter Electrical Design Engineer will participate in a cross functional team of engineers responsible for electronic module design and development.
This role is responsible for specifying requirements, execution and evaluation of internal and external circuit designs, circuit analysis, development, testing and control of engineering projects where creativity and initiative are involved.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide Electrical Engineering support for component Product Development Teams (PDTs)
  • Review and evaluate suppliers' electrical designs as necessary
  • Support the team developing low level SW interfaces as needed (HWIO software)
  • Provide Electrical Engineering support component Design Validation (DV) and Production Validation (PV) testing
  • Generates technical solutions for current, new and major programs
  • Develops engineering designs to meet Component Technical Requirements Specification (CTRS)
  • Evaluates and Implements CTRS engineering changes
  • Work in the Electrical Lab to demonstrate compliance to requirements and evaluate alternative designs as necessary
  • Specifies and balances system requirements
  • Plans and implements test and/or development programs
  • Releases parts and subsystems for production as necessary
  • Communicates, coordinates, and consults with engineering departments and customers
  • Stays abreast of new technology and competitive products
  • Travels as required

Additional Job Description

Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent engineering experience required
  • 2+ years of demonstrated technical skills in circuit board design and development
  • Experience with microprocessor design details, as well as circuit board design and testing
  • Understanding of engineering theory and principles of operation of mechanical/electrical mechanisms.
  • High level analytical ability where problems are unusual and complex.

Desired Skills
  • Masters degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Circuit design and development skills
  • Microprocessor circuit design experience
  • Automotive Electronics Design and Validation experience
  • Experience managing supplier designs
