Zurich is currently looking for a Business Systems Analyst II to work out of our North American headquarters in Schaumburg, IL as a key member of the Information Technology team supporting our Transactional Solutions Administration within the Application Development and Maintenance unit.

This individual will work with the team and the Business to translate business requirements into technical specifications for application updates related to projects, enhancements and compliance needs while working in an Agile environment supporting the design, construction, and implementation of these updates to the applications. The ideal candidate will be an individual that is an energetic and a skilled professional requiring minimal supervision, and will serve as the liaison between the Business and IT.

Other responsibilities may include:

  • Participate in analysis of business requirements and translate them into user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Coordinate activities with product owners to gather requirements
  • Document detailed functional and non-functional requirements
  • Use requirements management tools and techniques such as Use Cases, Data Matrix, Process Flow Diagrams, JIRA, etc.
  • Support development, user testing, implementation, and training activities
  • Understand and apply delivery approaches (i.e. Agile methodology, Scrum) and perform, independently, business analysis processes in accordance with Zurich Project management framework and the Zurich risk policy
  • Provide subject matter expertise to others in the organization
  • Participate in User Acceptance testing and analysis of results
  • Perform Exploratory ad-hoc testing for Sprint activities and application regression testing

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree and 5 or more years of experience in the Business Analysis area

OR

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in the Business Analysis area

AND

  • Experience in mainframe and PC environments
  • Experience in insurance operations and regulatory environment
  • Microsoft Office Excel and Word experience
  • Business Systems Integration
  • Experience with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of insurance industry business processes
  • Knowledge of insurance policy administration and underwriting
  • Experience in understanding and applying various delivery approaches (i.e. Agile, Waterfall, Scrum)
  • Experience working on Agile Scrum teams and facilitating requirements development discussions with Scrum team members
  • Advanced negotiation skills
  • Strong consultative experience preferred
  • Experience with collaborating across many teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
