The Role

The Senior IT Systems Analyst provides expert technical direction in client system trouble shooting by designing, developing, modifying, debugging, and evaluating programs for functional areas. The position analyzes requested changes and translates business requirements into system design. This includes changes to existing programs or formulating logic for new system development, and performing coding and test/debug programs. The Senior IT Systems Analyst develops conversion and system implementation plans, prepares and obtains approval of system design concepts and programming documentation. Recommends changes in development, maintenance and system standards. Demonstrates system functionally to users, trainers, and process representatives.

The Main Responsibilities

  • Gather and understand business and user requirements in support of software purchases and software maintenance renewals
  • Analyze vendors' software terms and conditions to determine alignment with business and user requirements. Recommend terms and conditions that provide the greatest flexibility now and in the future; ensure that language regarding license counts is clear and measurable
  • Lead negotiation strategy discussions, when key licensing terms are involved. Participate in high-performance negotiation teams with Legal, Sourcing, and client representatives
  • Establish internal processes to regularly measure and document software license asset usage
  • Lead complex data analysis and verification projects ensure license compliance, help clients get the best pricing, and establish appropriate levels quantities for renewals
  • Manage large and complex license alignment efforts to conclusion, ensuring that the process aligns with contract rights and best practices
  • Lead and participate in a matrixed team of global employees to meet business objectives and service levels
  • Communicate with internal clients (ranging from technical functional experts to Executives) and vendor representatives
  • Develop and improve best practices for achieving Software Asset Management objectives; automate tasks to improve efficiency where appropriate; influence others to adopt best practices
  • Apply industry's leading-edge concepts to our internal approaches
  • Lead group projects and decisions, ensuring that the right problem is solved efficiently
  • Participate in peer reviews of data analyses, process documentation
  • Prepare executive summaries and actionable recommendations from detailed and complex analyses

What We Look For in a Candidate

  • 8+ years professional experience with Bachelor's Degree
  • 6+ years professional experience with Master's Degree
  • Skilled at data analysis
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Abilitiy to work with cross-functional team and external vendors
  • Negotiation skills; demonstrated experience with multi-million dollar software transactions
  • Requires minimal supervision to manage multiple priorities, applies independent judgment to accomplish objectives
  • Experience with software licensing for desktop and other software from major industry vendors (e.g., Microsoft, Adobe)
  • Experience with asset management and purchasing tools
  • Demonstrated strong and positive interpersonal talents; able to interact with and influence people from all disciplines; able to balance persuasiveness and assertiveness to build relations while meeting objectives.
  • Self-awareness of skills and awareness of organizational impacts
  • Proven ability to represent and address IT-focused considerations and interests, while conducting software asset management activities and negotiations

  • Bachelors or Equivalent
  • Masters or Equivalent

This position is eligible for either short-term incentives or sales compensation. Director and VP positions also are eligible for long-term incentive.
