Level 1 2 and 3 Helpdesk duties
Server and Network Operations
Small level Project Management

Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Small level project management
  • Liaison between local business contacts, vendors, Corporate and other IT groups
  • Be the lead Local IT contact for the Business and work with the local IT team to ensure business and enterprise IT needs are being met.
  • Create images for Laptops, Desktops and VMs
  • Support Optel Serialization equipment in Manufacturing environment
  • Peripheral devices, including printers, copiers and scanners
  • Install telephones (Mitel)
  • Support the Microsoft office suite
  • Support Active Directory
  • Install and support appropriate security procedures to safeguard systems from physical harm and viruses, unauthorized users, and damage to data
  • Perform regular tests to ensure integrity of systems
  • Ensure, virus protection, patches are up-to-date
  • WSUS and GPO support
  • Responsible for tracking problems and resolution
  • Use Dell KACE helpdesk for ticket tracking and management of PC’s
  • Develops user guides procedures, schedules and compliance related documentation
  • System backups, check log files, change tapes
  • Maintain equipment inventory
  • Review system logs and records daily
  • Provide recommendations and input on software/hardware selection
  • Additional duties as assigned by Manager


Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Telecommunications equipment and communication lines (MPLS and VPN)
  • Knowledge of Network hardware and software (Dell, Cisco)
  • Knowledge of Telephony equipment VOIP on Mitel
  • Solid understanding of Ethernet/LAN/WAN/IP networking software and hardware
  • Strong PC diagnostic and troubleshooting skills required
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office Word/Excel/Outlook desktop programs
  • Ability to work with both technical and non-technical personnel to solve network problems
  • Must be able to be on call and work long hours if necessary, in case of serious system/network malfunction
  • Excellent follow through

  • A Minimum of Bachelors Degree or Equivalent experience/education relative to the position
  • Must have a minimum of ten years experience in system/network/security administration desired
  • Strong Windows Server experience required
  • VMWare experience a plus
  • MS Powershell experience a plus
