Janitor (1pm-9:30pm)Position Summary
Performs custodial duties and minor repairs. Keep buildings in clean and orderly condition. Assists in sanitation control and checks safety hazards. Does not supervisor any other employees.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Adhering to high sanitation, GMP, safety standards, company policies and procedures.
Conducts assigned work in a safe manner and adheres to FPC safety methods.
Performs cleaning and janitorial duties, limited general maintenance of grounds (ie. parking lot and areas surrounding the facility).
Reports needs on any building repairs (i.e., broken doors, cracks in walls, broken glass, lights, etc.) to department supervisor.
Reports all observed safety hazards.
Adheres to all company policies and procedures.
Maintains janitor closets in a clean, organized and safe manner; Maintains janitorial equipment in a clean, safe and operable condition.
Restock cleaning chemicals, supplies and equipment. Report low inventory to Lead Sanitation Operator.
Removes snow from entrances and sidewalks and salts the area.
Clean and sanitize bathrooms.
Sweeps and mops stairways, as well as clean the walls, railings, overhead pipes, light fixtures, and doors & wall telephones.
Maintains floor in non-production areas clean.
Operates Forklift or Hand Jack.
Operates carton compressor and bailer machine.
Operates hydraulic trash compactor.
Proper labeling, dilution and use of all chemicals.
Other routine maintenance duties as assigned.
Back-up to Janitor/Sanitation Operator(s): Temporary Janitor/Sanitation Operator
Skills and Personal Characteristics Required:
Some custodial experience preferred (minimum of one year)
Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods. Requires bending, stooping, reaching up, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Possible exposure to chemicals requiring special clothing or safety equipment.
Be at work as scheduled and in a timely manner.
Ability to push barrels and drums on wheels (300-400 lbs)
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
Ability to work effectively with a team.
Ability to work independently as needed to support the group effort.
Basic knowledge of cleaning products or willing to learn.
Ability to work scheduled shift.
Ability to work overtime as needed.
Ensures compliance with AIB, SQF, and other relevant standards.
