The Department of Pediatrics seeks a highly qualified Lab Technician 1 or 2 to work in the Ray laboratory at the Child Health Research Center. The laboratory explores molecular physiology and cellular mechanisms that precipitate pediatric renal diseases, with a focus on understanding the pathogenesis of nephrotic syndrome, capillary permeability, and angiogenesis in pediatric kidney diseases. The incumbent will be expected to set up and perform experimental procedures in animal work, tissue harvest and processing, and cell culture, assist in laboratory maintenance.

This is a restricted position; continuation is dependent on funding and satisfactory performance.

Lab Technician 1 Minimum Requirements:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Experience: At least 1 year of lab experience in molecular and cell biology techniques and working with rodent models, which may include student experience. Bachelor's degree will be considered in lieu of experience.

Lab Technician 2 Minimum Requirements:

Education: Associate's degree

Experience: At least 2 years of lab experience in molecular and cell biology techniques and working with rodent models, which may include student experience. Bachelor's degree in related science will be considered in lieu of experience.

Preference given to candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Biology and at least two years of experience working with molecular and cell biology techniques and working with rodent models.
